The Talent Management Collective

Where talent management professionals connect, collaborate, and find community

The Talent Management Collective Experience

Idea Labs

Working sessions on issues in the field.

Once a month, we organize an hour-long facilitated discussion on an urgent topic for talent practitioners, like AI in assessment, hybrid culture, succession planning and the reinvention of leadership development.

Peer Consultation

Small group cohorts of same-level peers to share knowledge.

Groups of 6-8 peers meet on a regular cadence for six months, developing enough trust to ask the right questions and provide supportive advice to one another.

Micro-workshops

Experienced practitioners provide tools and techniques you can use right away.

TMC faculty and carefully selected guests lead workshops in topics such as stakeholder management, succession planning, executive presence, and decision-making methods.

IRL Gatherings

Dinners, retreats, and the annual convening.

Community members gather to get to know one another, network, and learn together in person. We host small group dinners in cities throughout the U.S. and gather for a full day each year.

When Dan Fisher, Steve Garcia, Beth Gullette and David Peterson founded the Institute for Contemporary Leadership to work together bringing cutting-edge leadership development methods to executives from different industries, they also developed a think tank process of regularly convening senior talent leaders. As they met with talent leaders, they saw a pattern: not only did the senior talent leaders create new connections with one another, but when they did, new ideas and questions were generated that could move the field forward. Talent management professionals develop the careers of everyone around them — with a community of fellow practitioners, they can take the lead in crafting their own careers, too. The Talent Management Collective was created to be that community.

A small standing group of fellow CHROs and CPOs.

Real conversations on the things that actually keep you up — succession, board dynamics, transformation, AI in the function, the cost of a misfire.

Five hours of strategic advisory each year.

Drawn from senior practitioners and independent thinkers in TMC's community. Use it for succession planning, team diagnostic readouts, CEO partnership questions, board moments. Redeemed when issues are live, not scheduled in advance.

Private dinners, closed-door sessions, and member-to-member introductions.

Connections to peers tackling the same challenges in different industries. Quiet relationships, made deliberately.

Interested in attending an event or two before joining TMC? Let us know and we'll add you to the invitation list.

Our company subscriptions are for organizations that want to invest in their talent function as a group — managers, senior leaders, and CHROs developing alongside one another, with a single contract and one point of contact at TMC. Every nominated member still independently meets TMC's membership requirements. What changes is the enrollment experience, not the bar.

What's the Same Across Every Package

        Membership requirements stand.

Every nominee independently meets TMC's standards: several years in talent management for General, a senior talent leadership role for Executive, a sitting CHRO or CPO position for CHRO Circle. We review every nominated member; admission is confirmed within five business days.

        Replacement seats are built in.

If a member leaves your company during the subscription year, the seat reverts to your company and can be filled by a new nominee. The departing member retains their individual TMC membership through year-end as a goodwill carry-over.

        If a CHRO steps down.

If your CHRO Circle member leaves the role, the seat converts to an additional Executive seat for the remainder of the subscription year. The value continues in a different form.

        Anniversary-based year.

Your subscription year runs from the date of contract signing. Renewal is offered 60 days before the anniversary date. Pricing may adjust at renewal in line with TMC's published rates.

        Things Organizations Often Ask

Are members admitted automatically once we sign?

No. Every nominee still applies and is reviewed individually. What you're buying is the right to nominate, with a streamlined application track. Admission depends on the individual qualifying. We respond within five business days of receiving a complete application.

What if we don't fill all the seats in the first year?

You have the full subscription year to fill seats. Seats nominated mid-year still receive a full year of TMC engagement (their individual membership extends past your renewal date). We'd rather you nominate the right people than rush to fill seats you don't have candidates for yet.

Can a member who joined through us continue if they leave the company?

Yes. The departing member retains their individual TMC membership through the end of your subscription year. Your seat returns to your company immediately and can be filled by a new nominee.

What does the faculty working session cover?

A three-hour virtual session led by a TMC faculty member, on a topic your team chooses. Format is dialogue and peer consultation — not lecture or training. For your nominated members only, scheduled by mutual agreement during the year. Common topics include current challenges in the talent function, development themes for senior practitioners, or facilitated working sessions on a strategic question your team is wrestling with.

Can we add more seats partway through the year?

Yes. Additional seats can be added pro-rata at any time during the subscription year, or you can upgrade to a larger package.

What if our needs don't fit any of these packages?

Different headcounts, different seat mixes, or specific programming requirements can all be built into a custom plan. Reach out to start the conversation.

        One Conversation, One Contract

Whether you're sizing up Team or scoping a custom plan, the next step is a conversation. We'll walk you through the application track, draft a contract, and get your team's nominations into review.

        Start a conversation
Who is the Talent Management Collective for?

The Talent Management Collective is for in-house talent management professionals — practitioners working inside companies in talent, L&D, OD, talent acquisition, assessment, and HRBP leadership. Our three tiers map to where members are in their careers: General for rising practitioners, Executive for senior talent leaders, and the CHRO Circle for sitting CHROs and Chief People Officers.

        What's the time commitment?

Most members attend one to three sessions a month. Idea Labs are roughly 60 minutes. Peer consultation cohorts meet monthly for about 90 minutes. Members participate in what's most relevant to them — there's no attendance requirement, and everything is recorded.

        What does it cost?

General Membership is $1,250/year, with a half-price self-pay rate. Executive Membership is $2,500/year, also with a half-price self-pay rate. The CHRO Circle is $10,000/year and is by invitation only. We also offer Company Subscriptions for organizations enrolling multiple talent leaders at once.

What if my company won't sponsor/pay for my membership?

For General and Executive memberships, the self-pay rate is half the cost of the company-sponsored rate.

        Is participation confidential?

Our peer consultation cohorts are confidential and not recorded so members can develop genuine trust. Idea Labs and Deep Dives are not confidential; they are open to prospective members, and may be recorded and shared with members who couldn’t attend live.

        How do in-person events work?

We host dinners, workshops, and the annual Summer Summit in cities where members live and work — and additional events around major industry conferences. Members host IRL meetings at their offices; we help organize and fund them. We aim to make in-person accessible without making it required.

Can I attend an event while I'm considering joining?

We'd love to have you join us for an Idea Lab or a Deep Dive before formally joining TMC. Please take a look at the calendar, then contact us and we'll add you to the attendance list for the upcoming event.
